Biography

Bio

Hello! I’m Amanda, a psychotherapist and yoga teacher originally from Nova Scotia, now rooted in Toronto and Northern Ontario. My work blends psychotherapy, nervous‑system‑informed yoga, and a grounded, relational approach to supporting people through stress, anxiety, trauma, and complex trauma. For the past 15 years I’ve worked as a clinician, mentor, and supervisor, and I currently serve as Clinical Director at Nerve Psychotherapy and Counselling. Yoga has been part of my life for decades, shaping both my personal practice and the way I show up with clients. I’m a 200‑hour trained teacher, and I integrate movement, breath, and body‑based awareness into therapy in ways that honour choice, pacing, and each person’s capacity. Outside the therapy room, you’ll usually find me outdoors—canoeing, camping, cross‑country skiing, or hiking in Northern Ontario’s quiet spaces. I also practice embroidery thread painting, a slow, tactile art form that mirrors the way I approach healing: with attention, curiosity, and respect for the small, meaningful details that make us who we are.
